We got a real swell opportunity to have a go at repositioning Three mobile, and somehow managed to convince a whole team of very talented people that mashing two animals together was a great idea.
The first campaign of the new idea was for Go Roam, where you can use your phone abroad with spending a singulo centito. We made EVERYTHING, from the telly spot through to the banner ads on The Daily Mail. We love our baby. Isn't she FANCY.
Here are some of our fave bits including a very snazzy special build, some totes hipster graffiti, some looping gif DOOH'z and oh, only the bladdyyyy !MAX. Hey giant logo!
Big up everyone who made this all happen. Like our tiptop CD's David "nicest man in the world" Day, Larry "cleverest man in the world" Seftel, The Mill, Wave and The Perlorian Brothers. And obviously the whole Three team at wk.
Go Roam | Three UK
Here's our snazzy first ever 30 second advert. Go on. Go on hol. Take ya phone. Off ya pop.
This is Katy doing an impression of a Giraffamingo right in front of one. Classyyyy.
Three let us do a **Waterloo Takeover** where we plastered our feathery friend in 15 diffferent places as one big old exciting walkthrough.
All the DOOH bits as photographed by a very kind photographer* who we will credit when we find out who it is.
*if it was you please email us. Thanks!
THREE MOBILE II
Those lovely guys at Wieden+Kennedy let us have another go.
To get Three shifting their Go Binge package which lets lucky customers watch a whole bunch of Netflix n tvplayer without even touching their data allowance, we created this lazebomb of a sloppy sloth powered by the full on force of a dolphin. He goes anywhere he fancies, cause you can too.
As always, big up The Mill, our CD's David Day and Larry Seftel, The Perlorian Brothers and the whooooole Three team at wk.
Go Binge | Three UK
Here's our fun n fancy TV ad. After watching it 57 times a day for 3 months and spending most of the summer in dark windowless rooms we still think it's bloomin' great. What a talented bunch they are at The Mill.
Go Binge Snapchat
We did some nice and mental Snapchat ads, featuring our cute lil dolph-a-sloth spinning around being as infinite as your data allowance. hYpNoTiSiNgggggg.
We've got heaps of DOOH featuring all ya fave shows, like House of Cards (top top), Narcos (gr8 telly), and Stranger Things (no I'm not kidding, you can srsly watch it without using data). Our lil mate does a Seaworld stylee display over but with less animal cruelty and more bingely cuteness.
We did some 30", 15" and 6" cutdowns for social media and other bits n bobs. We got our lil mate to spill out of the frame to illustrate just how freakin' free he is.
We thought it would be nice/forward thinking to try and turn the Dark Web into a nice inhabitable place for everybody. After all, it's not all porn, class A drugs, and hitmen. It's an untapped art medium, obv.
So, along with our pals Peter Browse and Olivia Charlesworth we made L.U.V (Luved Up Vibez) the newest bestest romanciest 21st century drug. We cut together 15 of the most potent aphrodisiacs known to man, including avocado, strawberry, oyster, chocolate, coffee, honey, artichoke, pomegranate, cherry, pumpkin, whipped cream, watermelon, chai tea, pine nuts, and chilli.
We packed them in the dead of night into true-love busting drug pellets just in time for Valentine’s Day. Not only were they super tasty, they were also 99% guaranteed to make people fancy you 100% more, and make your love 114% more potent. The dark web isn’t all bad, eh.
We sold them on Alpha Bay, accessible only through Tor, the darknet browser. We then put our druggy hands up, sat back and watched the clicks roll in*.
Top Technological Fact We were going to list the pills as priceless, as you can’t put a figure on true love, but they were quite costly to put together, and after tax, VAT, and bitcoin exchange rates, they come in at roughly 0.03 bitcoin (that’s almost a heart shape <3). Which is about £25 including international p&p.
Top Economical Fact The pills come in 2’s (vanilla), 3’s (menage a trois), or 5’s (extra hot). We delivered right to the safety of the doorstep in a suitably sinister teddy bear or old rom com DVD case.
*It got absolutely no press and we did it very last minute. But we had fun. Swings and roundabouts eh?
While at W+K we got stuck in with this really gr8 thing they do called Forever Curious.
It culminates in a workshop called My Creative Spark, which is a half day busting with glorious glitter and glue, and is W+K’s attempt to give a lil back to three local schools that have had their arts budgets cut wayyy back. Like wayyyy back. Like NO GLUE STICKS back.
We teamed 90 kraaaaazy kids with 90 bad ass W+K buddies, added heaps and heaps and heaps of glitter, pom poms and felt, and crammed it all into one big room.
With a lot of help from their imaginations we took these little guys on a wicked wild trip to CREATOPIA. Yes, Creatopia. A world of workshops where you can go to be...you guessed it. Creative.
Firstly, the kiddiewinks and buddies hopped into their spaceship (or whatever method of transport they have in their Creatopia) and thunked up their very own planet. Inspired by their **creative spark**. There were worlds of imagination islands, worlds of sunbathing mermaids and worlds that were totally divided except for three days a year when one set of people could visit the other set and have a party. But, I hear you cry/quietly query. “How can you identify a fellow Creatopian?” Great question, and exactly what the secret greetings and innovative S/S 2017 creatopia catwalk sessions were for. Helloo bonding, helloo building, hello next level thought leadership. Then, led by our in-house W+K Flagtrepreneurs, we made bright and breezy flags to wave around patriotically and proudly and planetly.
We got some pretty swell feedback from the kiddos. They made our ovaries scream with lovely remarks like;
'Coming here is like actual sunshine inside.'
'I think coming here is better than watching Manchester United and that's my number 1 thing'
'I like it that no one is looking at their phones. At home that happens all the time.' (cry)
'I feel important today, like I did that time I was star of the week'
It all wrapped up with a snazzy exhibition where everyone was reunited with their creative soul mate. There was an excellent a healthy snack and juice box reception, followed by some up and coming next generation art, and a high chance of leaving with a pipe cleaner stuck to your shoe.
Hello friend. Let me welcome you to Creatopia with this krazykewl handshake I just made up with my bezzie/buddy.
Get Globey With It
Who wouldn't want to live on a planet where the floor is glitter and the trees are blue feathers?
We got the lil cuties, and the kids, to draw what their creative spark is.
We super styled each other only using paper plates, then hit that catwalk like we were actual cats, actually walking.
<3 <3 <3 Such bonding. Many awkward dances. So socially responsible <3 <3 <3
The whole globe making workshop was circle themed (lol jk) it's not even a funny joke.
Please, only one satsuma each.
It was like being in the Tate but better.
I'D BE NOTHING WITHOUT EU <3
Because we actually really care about this, we definitely took this joke too far and actually made a fully functioning dating website.
We now have 3,510 members that aren’t friends or family, which is both unexpected and exciting, and we’ve had lots of fun press in mad places like msn.com, Huffington Post, Le Parisien, Liberation.fr, Made In Shoreditch, The Lambeth Weekender, The Israel National News, Agence France Presse TV, The London Economist, Look Magazine and The Spectator.
And a little bit of hate, which just validates our reasons for doing it.
MY VOUCHER CODES
My Voucher Codes came in to The School of Communication Arts and set the students (us) two briefs. We got a bit carried away and won both. First time round we remade the John Lewis Christmas ad in 7 hours, and with a £700 budget, compared to Adam & Eve's 7 months and £7million. And it did so well (last we heard we'd hit a million impressions. Impressive, huh?) we made an unofficial Euros song too on a budget of £19.66. All the proceeds go to Nordoff Robbins, and we get to say we're in a band, so it's all going pretty well. (The 1966. Find us on Spotify.)
The John Lewis spoof also won Best Use of Digital at the 2016 CIPR Excellence Awards, and Digital and Social Media Campaign of the Year at the #PRCADARE Awards 2016. Wahoo!
Christmas Doesn't Cost The Moon - John Lewis Christmas Ad 2015 Parody We got a fair bit of press for this one
Gonna Win The Euros - The 1966 - Unofficial England Euro 2016 Song And a fair few mentions for this 'un too
CANNES FUTURE LIONS NOMINATED! STUDENT WORK!
For the 29,000 children in the UK who have diabetes, finger pricking is no fun at all, but we’ve discovered this tech that means you can measure blood glucose from sweat. So we thought ‘why don’t we embed a patch in a pair of socks so we can monitor the sweatiest part of your body, and send notifications to your phone when you need insulin?’ The future is now.
Sock it to diabetes
D&AD NEW BLOOD YELLOW PENCIL WINNER! STUDENT WORK!
Get Poached is a partnership between LinkedIn and WWF that makes charity work more tangible. Users pick skills they’d like to learn, and practice those skills whilst giving WWF a helping hand. In return, they get a jazzy little badge that’s shown at the top of their Linkedin profile, helping them stand out from every other grad with a 2:1. And then they can start making big bad companies more sustainable from the bottom up.
Chloe likes crisps. A lot. So much so that when she was looking for her next 'passion proj' and raised the question 'what am I passionate about?' the answer was crisps. So PACKET was born. A monthly crisp zine, all about crisps. Feel free to request a copy. I've heard it's on the Richard and Judy book club list.

Katy is practically a celebrity in the set design world. She's done tonnes of mad stuff and it's all ridiculously cool. For example, this is The Toast Mahal, voted Time Out's 'Number 1 Thing to Happen in April 2015 in London'. This is only a taste (lol), so for the whole shebang head over to katy-edelsten.com.
She's had nice stuff featured in Le Book, Dazed Digital, YCN & Notion Magazine.
